Italian present conditional: vorrei, potresti, sarebbe

The present conditional for wishes, polite requests and advice: vorrei, potresti, sarebbe...

In Italian: Condizionale presente

The conditional borrows the future's stem and adds its own endings — -ei, -esti, -ebbe, -emmo, -este, -ebbero: parlerei, scriverei, dormirei, and the same contracted stems, sarei, avrei, farei, vorrei.

It is the polite register. Vorrei un caffè is what you say in a bar; voglio un caffè sounds like a demand.

It also gives advice — dovresti riposare — and reports news that is not confirmed: secondo il giornale, sarebbe arrivato ieri.

___ un cappuccino e un cornetto, per favore. (io, volere)
