Italian articles and plurals: il, lo, la, un, uno, una
Indefinite/definite articles (un, uno, una, il, lo, la) and regular/irregular plurals.
In Italian: Articoli e plurali
Every Italian noun has a gender, and the article in front of it agrees with that gender and with the sound the noun starts with: il libro, but lo studente and lo zaino; la casa, but l'amica.
The plural is regular more often than not. Nouns in -o take -i (libro → libri), nouns in -a take -e (casa → case), and nouns in -e take -i whatever their gender (chiave → chiavi).
The indefinite article follows the same logic: un libro, uno studente, una casa, un'amica.
___ amico
